Northern Lights Metal Roofing was founded to carry forward the legacy of Cliff Vosburg, a master craftsman with an unmatched passion for roofing. For over 20 years, Cliff dedicated himself to perfecting the trade, training crews, and setting the highest standards in quality—especially in metal roofing.
After his passing in 2021, his skilled teams faced uncertainty about their future. Determined to continue his vision, three lifelong friends from different industries came together to form Northern Lights Metal Roofing. Their goal was simple: to keep Cliff’s team working and uphold the craftsmanship and values he instilled.
Today, we are a full-service roofing company specializing in metal, asphalt, and more. From securing permits to working directly with insurance companies, we handle every detail to make the process seamless for our clients. More than just building roofs, we honor Cliff’s commitment to excellence, ensuring every project reflects the quality and trust he stood for.

Mike Jones, with over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, specializes in residential and commercial projects, including roofing, siding, gutters, and more. As CEO, he oversees day-to-day operations both in the field and office, while enjoying family time, bowling, snowmobiling, and four-wheeling in his spare time.
Shawn Doty brings over 30 years of technology experience, specializing in the insurance industry. As Chief Operating Officer at Northern Lights Metal Roofing, he has transitioned the company from spreadsheets to more efficient tools for both office and field teams. Married to Jen and a father of four boys, Shawn coaches baseball and bowling for his twins and enjoys bowling, ice fishing, and four-wheeling.
Jen Doty, with over 25 years of tech experience, serves as CFO at Northern Lights Metal Roofing, managing financial systems in her spare time. She helped create the company's website, marketing, and accounting systems. A mother of four and married to Shawn, Jen enjoys crafting, quilting, and bowling with her business partners.
Shawn has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, with expertise in roofing, siding, gutters, and windows. As Director of Operations at Northern Lights Metal Roofing, he manages day-to-day operations while focusing on the company's growth. Shawn and his wife, Lisa, enjoy family time with their 5 kids, 3 dogs, and many chickens. He also enjoys hunting, fishing, sports, and watching his kids play.
Kolynn has over 14 years of experience in the construction industry, specializing in property catastrophe insurance claims. She collaborates with insurance companies to help homeowners restore their property to pre-storm conditions and ensures a smooth process.
